These photos are apart of Mike's ongoing undergraduate thesis which portray young artists and the limitations of working in their bedrooms whilst showing that creativity has no bounds. While the studio may be ideal, the bedroom’s personal and accessible space creates limitless opportunities for creative flow and still pushes aside the distractions of daily life.
Ang Ilaw Sa Puso Ko
These photos are apart of Mike's Individual Student Directed Project Exhibit during undergraduate term which is an interactive triptych consisting of three monotone photographs supported by foam board. Integrated to each piece is audio, best listened through headphones to immerse the viewer. Translated to “The Light in My Heart” Mike shares three portraits in different settings all taken from a family gathering. The placement of the photographs call back to the triangular placement of the stars on the Filipino flag. Each piece has its own corresponding audio for each practice from mahjong, cooking and karaoke. With this work, Mike aims to showcase the culture of Filipino American family parties.

Utilizing a controlled private studio and professional lighting equipment, Mike creates dynamic headshots that would stand out for professional profile pictures.
